City Council met March 10 to consider a $1.23 million professional services agreement with Freese and Nichols. The Fort Worth company has an office in Austin and  other locations nationwide.

The 2.5-million-gallon tower will replace a 1-million-gallon standpipe near East Pfennig Lane.

This water tank will help to improve water pressure in the growing central part of Pflugerville.

Construction of the 2.5-million-gallon tank includes demolition of the existing standpipe, and installation of a 24-inch water line to replace the existing 12/16-inch water line northeast of the tank site.

The city engineer estimate for new water tower construction, demolition and the new water line totals $7.77 million that includes a 30% contingency account.

The 2-million-gallon tank will be built just east of the Weiss Lane/East Pflugerville Parkway intersection.

This water tower will serve growth in the southeast portion of the service area.

A 24-inch water line is required to connect the new tank to the water distribution system.

Construction of the 2-million-gallon tank is estimated to cost $6.77 million, including a 30% contingency.

The city has not yet finalized a project schedule or delivery method. VBX members may track this project using ID number: 2020-20FA.
